Nina Simone
One A Day Multi + TV Spot, ‘Boost of Support’ Song by Nina Simone.
One A Day’s marketing team has been trying to buy the rights to a song for the One A Day commercial. We’ve spent months trying to negotiate a deal that we think would be fair. After failing to make a deal, we took the song to the company that makes the One A Day vitamin to see if we could license it.
Unfortunately, the company was already working on a similar campaign. So, they told us they couldn’t give us the song. At first, we were really mad. We had spent a long time trying to find a song and we wanted to sing our own version of the commercial.
As we talked with the company, they made it clear that they weren’t going to share the song with anyone. They were just trying to protect their business. And, when we asked why they wouldn’t share the song with us, they said that they thought we might use it to compete with them.
As a result, we decided to take the song to a different company to see if they would be willing to give us the rights. We spent several months trying to negotiate a deal with them, but they kept rejecting our offers. They told us that they wanted a lot of money for the song and they thought it would hurt their image.
Finally, we gave up and asked One A Day to sing the commercial for us.
We’ve gotten tons of comments on how weird this song is. But, our fans love it. One A Day sings the song live at events around the country. It’s our new anthem.
What are the words to the one a day commercial?
The commercial uses the lyrics “Got my hair, got my head, got my brains, got my ears, got my heart, got my soul, got my mouth, got my smile.” In context, Simone is listing the things that can never be taken away from her.
